I was thinking it was his Sgt. (of 1st Plt.) because Brandon told me before they left for Iraq his Sgt. took his "203" (the gun the other Marine is holding) from Brandon. Then I asked him last night who was in the picture with him and told him it was a Marine holding the "203" and he was like that's Sgt. *** (I don't know his first name, and I know we can't use last names)!!

well, looks like they updated the official site a little bit (finally!). there are a couple new articles -- one on Bravo Co. and one on H&S Co. on the main page:

Moderator inserted link - the web link for the 1st LAR Official site may be found on our own Unit Information Page:
http://www.marineparents.com/units/Print.asp?ID=37

the photos aren't working for me, though.

none of the other pages are updated.

Hi... as always prayers & good thoughts to all reading this. Does anyone have information on Bravo Co? When I try to get thru via this link it always says it's down. It's been a long 5-6 weeks since I last heard from my son. I'm looking foward to homecoming (boy that's an understatement)!!

to cndlchick,
when you come on the message board, the Bravo Co families have our own section. You will get all the Bravo info there.
My son called us last weekend. He will probably contact you this week. like I said, go back a screeen and look for the page that says "Looking for Bravo familes" It is a very active page.

*Great article on 1st LAR Delta Co.*

LAR remains expeditionary throughout deployment

Sgt. Dean Davis
3/25/2009

NINEWA PROVINCE, Iraq – Since the Marine Corps is known for its expeditionary prowess, maybe one of the best examples of this trait can be found in Iraq’s Ninewa province. Patrolling the terrain of northern Iraq, the Marines of 3rd Platoon, Company D, 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, Regimental Combat Team 8, have spent the bulk of their deployment staying true to this expeditionary mindset by remaining ‘outside the wire’ to interdict smuggling

Our Marines are back in the news at Viper!

Marines Practice for Real Thing

March 11, 2010 - 5:26 PM | by: Rick Leventhal

After pounding targets in the California desert Wednesday until almost midnight, Marines with the Marines' 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion spent Thursday morning cleaning and reloading before heading north deeper into the Air Ground Combat Center at 29 Palms. By midday the massive 155mm Howitzer cannons were firing again, softening targets for three-companies-worth of tanks and LAV-25s to finish off.

Be watching for the upcoming segment of Hell's Kitchen: Chef Ramsey and 1st LAR, Delta Company face off. I bet the Marines are up to the task. LOL! Can't wait to see my son on TV. He was standing next to Chef Ramsey yesterday when he called me.

We arrived in Kabul at 7am this morning. We went straight to our bureau, which is part of a house in a compound shared by other news agencies. There, correspondent Conor Powell briefed us and offered to show us around town a bit. We agreed, but then all three of us promptly fell asleep. I crashed on the floor on a mat covered in dirt from one of Conor's previous military embeds. I was woken up every so often by a man outside the window yelling "load!" and "unload!". He was running drills with a private security team. But I still slept hard. We didn't make it out of the Fox house until it was time to go to the military side of the airport to catch our first flight south.
