Our son just received his MarineParent.com Care Package. He just loved the Girl Scout Cookies and the childrens' letters!! Thank you for sending them. I know it made his day!
They are working so hard and such long hours, anything that brightens his day is appreciated!
Please consider making donations to MarineParents.com care packages!
Thank you from him. |

Hi PMMom -
Thanks for letting us know that your Marine liked his MP.com Care Package. It's great to hear that we have made a difference. I know my son and his buddies always enjoyed the day when those MP Care Packages arrived.
If anyone lives withing driving distance of Columbia, MO - I highly recommend trying to attend a packing day sometime. It's an amazing operation and very heartwarming to see so many people show up to help pack those boxes. If you can't get there; you can always donate items for us to pack in the boxes or money for the shipping costs. Click on "The Care Package Project" icon on the right-hand side of this webpage to learn more.
Thanks again PMMom! |

Dear Marine Parents
I too just wanted to relay my son's thanks and appreciation for the wonderful care package he received from the marine parents organization as well. In came just in time for Easter! He is enjoying the girl scout cookies and other goodies sent and of course is sharing with everyone in his Batallion! He says it feels really good to know that everyone here supports them. He said it really lifted his spirits and made for a great Easter away from home. Again thank you all! |

Yay! I'm so glad they are arriving! That was pretty quick! Ooh Rah to our post office for making this happen so fast for us. Did you know they take this straight to the airport from our headquarters on the day we pack them? How cool is that?
Glad they liked the cookies...we sent a variety this time instead of all the same flavor. Hope the rest of the guys are loving them! |

Hey Everybody,
I wanted to let you know about a cool app on FB. If you belong to Causes, when it is your birthday you can send a notification to all of your friends (or 60 per day) that instead of a birthday gift you are asking for donations to your favorite cause.
My birthday is Saturday and my Cause is the Marineparents.com care package project. I have asked my FB friends to contribute $12 to the Cause. I started on Saturday and so far 4 friends have contributed. My goal is to have at least 20 contribute. This is such an awesome app! I will keep you updated on my progress. If I get to the $240 I will increase my goal. Whoohoo! |

| Tracy, I am curious...with so many Marines deployed, how is it decided who gets the Care Packages? I've always wondered about this. |

| If Tracy pops back on this thread, I am sure she will answer, but to the best of my knowledge, mommafred, the care packages are shipped to those Marines for whom MarineParents Care Package Project has received a request for one. |

| You are correct! There is a link on this page for Care Packages. All you do is sign your Marine up. Very easy. |

Dear Someone Who Knows:
I ordered a couple of packages through the Care Package Project for other Marines. I read somewhere that priority would be given to Marines who are identified as "not receiving much mail." I am hoping that this is correct, also? |

Hello from the office!
Just wanted to jump in here and share some info...
I wouldn't say we have an "official" policy to give priority to Marines who are identified as "not receiving much mail"... but... there is some truth to that rumor!
We receive Marines' names in between packing days and especially when we're told they don't receive much mail... we send them packages!
That's right... as long as we have the content and the shipping funds available, we send packages periodically in between pack days as well. It's not a very publicized deal but... we absolutely love doing it!
So please, if you know of Marines who are not receiving mail, email Kelly - the CPP coordinator - at kelly@marineparents.com.
The Care Package Project is here to show our deployed Marines that we're thinking of them and we support them. We want to send that message to all Marines and especially to the Marines who not receiving that message from anyone else back home.
To enter a Marine's name in our Care Package Project, use the link below:
http://www.thecarepackageproject.com/receive.asp
Thank you all for your support! We're so glad to hear the guys got their cookies!! : )

| Thanks to all of you for clarifying that. I think I remember reading that a long time ago (so much info!!!) Fortunately, for me, my son hasn't been deployed yet, so I don't need to add him to the list. I'm so glad that you have a system that those who are deplyed are getting great Care Packages now & then. My son's in San Antonio and at this time won't even give me his address bc he says he doesn't need anything! Bet that changes one day... |
