I'm still laughing from the ones already submitted!

Gynecologist turned Mechanic
A gynecologist had become fed up with malpractice insurance and HMO paperwork and was burned out. Hoping to try another career where skillful hands would be beneficial, he decided to become a mechanic.
He went to the local technical college, signed up for classes, attended diligently, and learned all he could.
When the time for the practical exam approached, the gynecologist prepared carefully for weeks and completed the exam with tremendous skill.
When the results came back, he was surprised to find that he had obtained a score of 150%. Fearing an error, he called the instructor, saying, "I don't want to appear ungrateful for such an outstanding result, but I wonder if there is an error in the grade."
The instructor said, "During the exam, you took the engine apart perfectly, which was worth 50% of the total mark. You put the engine back together again perfectly, which is also worth 50% of the mark This equaled an A."
After a pause, the instructor added, "I gave you an extra 50% because you did it all through the muffler, which I've never seen done in my entire career.

We hope you will connect with people here and become an active member. This is absolutely the best place to find others who truly understand your joys and worries!

I have just sent you an email with lots of helpful information about the message board. Please check your spam folder if you don't find it in your inbox - our messages sometimes end up there.

I believe that is correct for enlisted below a certain rank - they must get permission from their commanding officer before marrying. My understanding is that this is mainly to prevent spontaneous decisions with someone a Marine has just met, but I may not have all the facts. I am sure there are members who know and will respond!

Again, welcome!

I read about this happening to other girls before or during deployment so maybe its just a phase...

The other day I called my marine because he had not called as usual and we spent 4 hours on the phone with him trying to break up with me and dead set on it and me trying to convince him not too. The day before everything seemed fine and then all of a sudden he wanted to be alone and not have obligation to anyone..i thought maybe he wanted to cheat when he leaves for deployment but it was just to weird..i dont know if it is just a phase or if he means it...im so sad and confused because after that he still calls to say that he loves me but nothing more than that...he said he would start pretending. I dont even know if we are together at this point because he just got off the phone and said fine ill stay and hung up. I really dont know what happened or if his roomates or people are telling him things...He just started his MOS job and its pretty tiering and frustrating so maybe its that?

this ever happen to you or any advice? :(

It is getting closer to my husband returning home and us moving to CLJ. We are wanting to live on base, and last time i checked it was 6-10 months wait for a 2-bdrm & 5-6 months wait for a 3 bdrm. My daughter will also be starting Kindergarten in the Fall, but havent been able to check out any of the schools there yet. I read on the website that even tho we will be off-base until we get a house on base that our daughter will still be able to attend the on-base school...does anyone know if this is true? We do plan on living on base but it will be around July before we get to move there & i know school starts Aug/Sept...

thanks!
